Karel Valdauf (25. 10. 1913 - 4. 7. 1982) - composer and musician, one of the most prominent Czech brass.

Karel Valdauf was born into a musical family in Trhové Sviny. Violin lessons from ten years, twelve already featured in his grandfather's band. In 1928 he began studying at the Military School of Music, and two years later he joined a military band. Karel Valdauf was a multi-instrumentalist who managed violin as good as saxophone, accordion or guitar. In the war in 1942 he founded the Salon Orchestra, who performed under the auspices of a civilian criminal police. The greatest glory then reaped the string orchestra Karla Valdauf and especially brass music Valdaufinkou . Karel Valdauf in musical arts studied further and in 1954 passed the state examination of the orchestra and choir.

Many of his songs, among them the polka Under one roof, , Březnická or Berounská in his time became hits. Total wrote one hundred and fifty songs, whether swift and energetic polkas and waltzes romantically captivating. How do you perceive medal or coin from a philosophical point of view?

Look, paper burns down, but minted or cast metal medals persist forever. After all, archeologists still find coins that bear witness of past times. There were many people, who had a fixed idea and followed the idea the whole lifetime or people, who achieved something significant. Be it for example Comenius, Hus or the emperor Charles IV., they certainly deserve that their legacy should be recorded or logged into something almost indestructible. From another perspective, it is also an expression of respect for these figures and an appreciation of what they did in their lives.
