Gottlieb Daimler (17. 3. 1834 - 6. 3. 1900) - German inventor and innovator. He co-authored a modern high-speed internal combustion engine design, which spurred a boom in automobile. He built also the first motorcycle and truck.
Gottlieb Daimler is rightly regarded as a technical visionary. Born in the German town of Schorndorf in the present state of Baden-Württemberg. First experience with strojařinou gathered in a factory producing locomotives at Graffenstaden, where he went to study in Stuttgart Polytechnic. After graduating as an engineer had returned to the factory, but soon headed for further experience in industrialized England. After returning to Germany had several businesses until he got a job as technical director in the firm engines Otto-Langen in Deutz.
